Mark fell in love with the game of golf at a young age after taking a lesson with his parents at a local course. Once the first golf ball was in the air, he was hooked! Mark grew up in Roanoke, VA playing high school golf and spending just about all of his free time at the course practicing and playing with friends. He graduated from Florida State University in 2008 with a degree in Business, Hospitality and Professional Golf Management, and he was elected to PGA membership the same year. Mark and his wife, Gretchen, made the move to northern Virginia in 2022, and he is currently the Head Golf Professional at Stonewall Golf Club, home of PMC Golf Academy. He loves teaching and coaching golf, and his teaching style focuses on helping golfers utilize and channel their natural athletic ability while keeping enjoyment of the game front and center.
To put it plainly, PMC Golf’s Owner and Director of Instruction Patrick McCarthy loves golf. Like many others, it all started when he and his father watched Tiger win the 1997 Masters. He was hooked after that. Patrick graduated from the Professional Golfers Career College in Hilton Head, SC, and has been passionate about teaching the intricacies of the sport to all ages ever since. This is his sixteenth year teaching full time and tenth year teaching in Prince William County. He was voted Best Golf Instructor of Prince William County by InsideNova Magazine in 2017 and 2019. He was previously the Director of Instruction at Broad Run Golf & Practice Facility and has been owning and operating PMC Golf Academy at Stonewall Golf Club in Gainesville, VA since 2020. His teaching style is straight forward and works with his students to improve upon their natural abilities. In a game that has frustrated many, Patrick brings tons of positive energy during his lessons (trust us, you’ll hear him on the range). Golf is hard, but he makes it whole lot more enjoyable for everyone.
Patrick and his wife, Sara, have called Virginia home for almost a decade now.
